Tile Removal Can Get You Fit

As I have discussed on this website before, health is a major priority, and it is my major focus on www.das-rubikon-team.com.  Have you ever thought that simply moving around is also healthy? In this post I’d like to dedicated to doing at whole projects.

There are so many projects that you can do at home that require you to get up off the couch and do something if you know what I mean.

I recommend that you consider large movement projects.

What might they entail?

Well, let me give you a for instance.

If you were trying to remove tile (because you want to lay new tile or other type of flooring) it is a big project and a real commitment to working out.

Let me explain why.

What goes into removing ceramic tile

First you will need the right tools:

Hammer, Several types of chisels, a pry bar, possibly some tools to score the grout or even a saw and a center punch.

Oh and don’t forget to protect your eyes, hands and lungs. Make sure that you have the proper safety goggles in place. The thing about it is that this is a full on physical assault on your old tile.

You’re going to get down and dirty and you will sweat. That is the real point of all of this. You want to roll up your sleeves and get going. Here is a YouTube video that shows the technique that you would want to use in order to remove old tile.

You can see where this could be a fun project and it sets you up to put in a new flooring and so you have the lasting effects of your workout for years to come.

The essential step-by-step instructions would be:

  1. make sure that you have all of the right tools in place.
  2. Dress for safety
  3. Start with a hammer and chisel
  4. Progress in sequential order tile by tile
  5. Keep in mind that the tile edges will be very sharp

Tile typically breaks just like glass so remember that you can cut yourself pretty easily typically you can order a special bag that can be filled with construction debris that can be hauled off easily.

There are alternatives however, if you feel that this type of project is too big to handle.  You can hire a professional company to do the job. One such company is Floor Busters of Central Florida. They can remove tile without the dust. You won’t even need to wear a mask.

It’s pretty cool technology. I wish it had been around when I was doing my last tile removal job.

That’s all for now. I hope this article opens your mind to kill two birds with one stone. Maintain your health and maintain your home.
